| Description | Divesting the Aboriginal Lands Trust (ALT) estate is a State Government election commitment. Divestment is central to increasing direct Aboriginal control of land to strengthen communities, foster economic activity and secure lasting change and improved outcomes for Aboriginal people. Divestment will only occur after extensive consultation with all interested parties and signed consents from the native title claimant group or traditional owners. As part of the divestment process, the Department has identified four sites that require environmental investigation prior to divestment. The objective of the works is to determine the contamination status of each of the sites and to assess the potential risk each of the sites pose to human health. |
