| Description | The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) requires a Respondent for the design of a new boat ramp and jetty, at Canal Rocks. Canal Rocks is located in Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park / Ngari Capes Marine Park, 4 km south west of Yallingup, and 15 km by road from Dunsborough. It is a popular destination for visitors to view the striking natural rock formation known as Canal Rocks and is an easily accessible location to view the wild coast of the south west. It is also the northern most west ocean facing boat ramp to launch small craft between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. Canal Rocks boat ramp and jetty are located on the south-eastern side of the Canal Rocks outcrop. This outcrop creates natural protection to the prevailing sea surge and swell, and forms one side of a sheltered bay that is open to the weather from the north-east only. |
